Recently our visual arts club had reached out about an opportunity to work with our local animal shelter to help create awareness for some of their adoptable dogs. Students received images of the animals and created portraits in their own styles to promote them on social media. When approached with the proposal for this project, the staff at the shelter were delighted and we have even discussed continued partnership with them in the future. Those who adopt these animals in need get to take their new companions portrait to their forever home with them as well.
