Several talented 7th and 8th grade band students from Foley Middle School recently earned the opportunity to represent their school at the District 11 Middle School Honor Band after successfully auditioning among some of the district’s top young musicians.
Students participated in a competitive audition process that included performing prepared scales and musical selections for a panel of judges. Based on their performance, several Foley Middle School band members were selected to join the District 11 Honor Band, an ensemble made up of the highest-scoring middle school musicians from across the district.
The selected students traveled to Danville High School where they spent the day rehearsing challenging concert literature under the direction of guest conductors. The event concluded with a public performance of the musical selections showcasing the hard work and dedication of these outstanding students.
