In our vibrant Technology 1 STREAM Studio, young minds in grades 2–6 embark on an exhilarating journey into the world of coding and problem-solving, fueled by their curiosity and boundless imagination. With every nine-week challenge, students are captivated by the thrill of programming their Sphero BOLTs to conquer dynamic courses I personally design on the classroom floor. These exhilarating puzzles ignite their creativity, perseverance, and critical thinking, pushing them to overcome obstacles and master increasingly complex challenges with fearless determination.
From their first click, students are filled with wonder as they learn to aim, drive, and manipulate the vibrant colors of their Spheros. These essential skills serve as the foundation for understanding movement, direction, and the powerful cause-and-effect relationships that breathe life into their creations. As their confidence soars, they bravely progress from simple controls to writing intricate code that guides their Spheros through daring obstacles, sharp turns, and precise targets—each step sparking a deep sense of achievement and discovery.
As they grow more skilled, students shift from guided practice to fearless independence, applying math, science, technology, engineering, reading, and art in ways that inspire real-world innovation. Each new challenge builds bridges to their previous triumphs, empowering them to set bold goals, test daring solutions, and reflect passionately on their journey.
