In a world where the news can make students feel scared or confused, the school librarian and the school guidance counselor of Ponderosa Elementary in Boyd County, KY strive to make a news show that showcases their school, students, staff, and school events in a way that makes the school community of Ponderosa Elementary feel safe and laugh along with their antics and jokes. Mrs. Theresa Russell and Mrs. Heather Moore have been using Canva all year to make their pre-recorded news sessions artistic and fun for kids. Their school principal, Mr. Brian Eerenberg has supported them every step of the way by providing Dad Jokes and making sure they have time to complete their broadcast. As the school year has progressed the news has grown and changed into something more than these 2 educators could have imagined– a comforting place that showcases students, provides leavity, and celebrates the school community!
